HEALTH & WELLNESS

Fairview Health Services

Ebenezer is the senior care division of Fairview Health Services and the largest provider of senior communities in the state of Minnesota, with about 80 locations. I have been a freelance creative resource to Ebenezer for about five years and in that time have worked on a multitude of projects, from event flyers to fundraising case collateral, to presentation materials and marketing emails.

With both Ebenezer owned and 3rd party owned, care communities, creating a unified look and feel for all communications has been a challenge. Recently, I worked with Ebenezer to create a brand guide which outlines proper brand usage, co-branded communications and templated layouts for common collateral pieces.

I also handle collateral and advertising design for Fairview’s Home Care and Hospice programs.

Zafu Designs

Zafu Designs of Boulder, Colorado manufactured cushions and pillows for the meditation and yoga niche markets. The founder of the company set out to change the world by promoting ‘the mindful lifestyle.’ I was engaged to create a branded experience for online customers and drive traffic to the site. After designing a logo and strategizing a brand feel, I strategized the UX and UI of the site and worked with developers and photographers to execute it, including creating a custom interactive design tool. Sub-brands were launched to bring durable natural/hypoallergenic soft goods to new markets, including sleeping pillows and dog beds. I created hang tags, signage, advertising, packaging, pretty much the full gamut of creative services. And I produced all of it. Unfortunately, Zafu Designs shut down after four mostly profitable years, due in large part to the weak economy.

HealthPartners yumPower Campaign

HealthPartners, a large non-profit health care organization headquartered in the Twin Cities, has undertaken a far reaching integrated marketing/public service campaign titled “yumPower,” urging people to eat well. I was engaged to create the visuals for a series of student activity sheets highlighting healthy eating information. The challenge of this assignment was to match the yumPower look and feel that had been created by a large advertising agency and included custom illustrated characters. I manipulated disparate stock illustrations to match one and other, the subject matter, and the original campaign. This worked to excellent effect, and at a far lower cost than custom illustration.
